Seller recommendation

Always like to pass on a good company ... I needed to buy 20L of Sadolin stain .... Found a supplier not only considerable cheaper than competitors, great communication ... free delivery, I ordered yesterday afternoon ... with me by 0900 this morning. They were even £6 a can cheaper than the local Crown Trade outlet (Crown own Sadolin), shows a look around can be worthwhile.

They seem to do a wide range of paints, decorating, landscaping, kitchens & bathrooms, ironmongery etc ...

May be of use .... was to me.

Thanks, always looking for supplier recommendations.

Some nice stuff eg:

Erfurt MAV Professional Lining Paper 1000 Grade £2.81

but some scary pricing in other areas eg:

Johnstone's Trade Acrylic Eggshell

2.5 Litre £32.56 vs £25.68 on Amazon inc del 5 Litre £54.25 vs RRP £52.99 and £34.24 on Amazon inc del

The latter being what I usually blag at my local Johnstones Trade Counter.

The answer I suppose is to check the competition before buying.

They are a very old-established Colchester company, and used to have a very good stock of hardware in their shop in the High Street near the Castle. From what I remember it was not dissimilar to that in the Two Ronnies fork-handles/four candles sketch, though much larger. I knew they had moved out of town, and it's good to know that they are still going strong.
