Screwfix Radiator bleed screw.

Feb 08, 2009 3 Replies

I thought that removing air from all radiators involved loosening the square plug with a key. Some Screwfix radiators have a plastic rotating plug with a small screw in the centre. The plastic plug has a tiny hole in it. Should the screw be loosened to release the air?

Seeking advice seemed better than trial and error - and drier! PJ

Yes ! - we had some new Screwfix rads at the last place and they had this system.

I think the idea of the rotating bit is so yuo can direct the nasty black water somewhere other than all over the new cream carpet

Not just SF, it seems to be common on other makes as well. Obviously the 'in' thing.
