Looking at where the snow melts first on roofs shows where insulation is failing, or where the rooms below are hottest.
Just thought I'd remind you, as not all of us are experts.

Yes 'tho he's got a point, it does have it uses interpreted carefully!...
..
Very good point - bedroom not used and unheated = little snow loss NOT better insulation.
