Rewiring - cost estimate

Chris, whatever data cables you run they'll be obsolete one day.

Cat6 is flavour of the month. But I suggest you them run in conduits so you can replace them with optic fibre or whatever we need next without taking the walls down (again)

I priced for a 3 bed as being more average.

or just use 1mm T&Es, either way

there are plenty of options, I'm just going with cheap and acceptabel for a starting price. I wouldn't fit so-called LED lights, once the LEDs go you need new fittings.

nonsense.

ay an extra 8x46p 2x65p = 4.98

if all electric, yes.

again only if an all electric house

I make it £297.53

optional extras

none included, an optional extra

I tend to agree. But the point is a rewire only need cost £200, you ca n go up from that any way you like. You could even go down from there if so me accessories or wiring can be reused.

Cat6a is pretty mainstream now, probably not significantly more expensive.

Fit cat8 cable, you never know how soon you'll need 25Gb or 40Gb ethernet :-P

Seriously though, 10Gb has been threatening to hit mainstream for years, and may do now SSD storage in desktops and NASs is close to making sense.
