I need to replace the washers on a couple of Supataps. One takes a 1/2" washer and the other is 3/4", I understand. (I haven't dismantled the taps yet, as I don't want to disturb anything until I have the parts.)
A couple of questions:
Can I just use ordinary flat washers? Or do I need to get a washer that comes on a brass jumper, ready-made?
Are domed washers better?
I too still have a couple of Supataps in use (the replacement basin and taps sit in boxes waiting to be installed). Despite them being 52 years old, I haven't had any need to replace washers since I moved in 35 years ago ...
I wanted to get the job done, so I've bought some washers complete with jumpers from a specialist.

I have only ever replaced them with specific supatap washers[1] (brass carrier with rubber insert) although it may be possible to replace the insert with a suitably trimmed piece of rubber (there is no central hole as with conventional tap washers). It is a very easy operation as the tap contains a secondary washer which cuts off the supply once the tap body is released from the nut head.
The process is to hold the nut at the top of the rotating top part with a spanner and unscrew the tap to release the lower part of the head to give access to the washer.
