My bath has a round knob on the overflow which you rotate to raise the plug.
How do I remove the knob?

There should be a small grub screw on the underside of the knob. This could need an allen key to undo. The knob will then just pull off.
On mine, just pull off.
Brute force if no screw is apparent.
Mine pushes on easily but only my oldest son can remove it once it's been on for a while. :((
There's usually a hole in the underside. Either an allan key or a philips screw in the hole - loosen then pull off.
