Recommended treatment for Wooden Door Step

Replace with stone?

Getting dry and old varnish has worn off. With all the various oils and preservatives on the market wonder what the group would recommend as best treatment.

Not unless you get a particulary soft bit of stone.

What you want is a nice bit of Alston Sandstone:

Lovely golden colour with coloured washes through it. It's also very hard and weather proof.

Replace with a massive polyester resin clear coat. Or in fact leave it there..and coat over
