Rebated brush draught excluder

While I've got my (wooden) front door off to strip and repaint it, I wondered about fitting some rebated nylon pile draught excluder strips all around the edge.

I've seen them fitted in door frames, but not in the door itself. Obviously routing out a rebate in the edge of the door is going to be easier than trying to cut one into an existing frame.

I've found this online:

wonder if it's suitable. Even though it's self adhesive I'd probably glue the carrier in with gripfix or somesuch.

Has anyone done this, and will it work.

Is such a thing likely to be available in the sheds or similar places or will I have to go to a specialist supplier (like the one above).

Thanks for any feedback. David.

How consistent is the gap between the door and the frame? I suspect that if you don't get the amount of contact between the brush and the frame just right there won't be any draft proofing or the door will be hard to shut.

While I've got the door off I can plane off and/or pack out the hinge rebates as necessary to get a consistent gap all around. It won't need a huge amount of adjustment. David
