On the contrary, we *all* have a right to give our opinions, so long as they are true, legal, fair, etc, as stated before. The problem seems to be that some right-wing people particularly, others do do it as well but most often it's right-wingers, seem to regard the oft-touted 'freedom of speech' so-called-right as a carte-blanche to say whatever they like about anybody or anything without regard to its truth, legality, fairness, etc.

Give an example of my telling a bigoted lie.

This one for a start, " it's funny how righties consider they have a right to tell abusive and bigoted lies".

They simply give opinions, unless it's something a 'centrist' wouldn't like to hear.

And you are the one to decide, of course.

Am I the only person who thinks that threads like this will be the death of News.net?

I joined to swop ideas and questions about uk digital tv.

You guys kill this with your constant attempt to score points off each other.

Tony

Learn to kill subthreads started by "Java Jive". Java Jive never adds any useful information.

The other alternative is to kill crossposted topics.

So, just as I expected, no rational response then.

In general, I agree, but you only have to look at the sort of people who start these threads and subthreads to know that they're always begun by one of the same comparatively small group of people, you can count them on the fingers of one hand almost - Bob Latham, Bill Wright, JNugent, the nymshifting idiot who's just been TOSed, maybe a couple of others, etc. They do it so often that it has to be a deliberate ploy of if you sling enough mud, hopefully some of it will stick.

Others besides you and I may dispute that, but more to the point, when was a useful thread or subthread ever begun by Fredxx? I can not recall a single one!

That only deals with a comparatively small subset of the problem threads. What's really needed is for the above group of people to realise that the wider ngs uk.tech.digital-tv and uk.d-i-y are not their personal megaphones, and that as long they persist in telling lies here, they will be persistently debunked by others such as myself.

Just as *I* expected, you missed the point.

That's because you don't read posts in uk.d-i-y

Pot, kettle, black comes to mind.

Not unless YOU dont kill file the offenders.

And who the f*ck do you think you are? The giver of rights?

Get a dose of fake news FFS.

Well, AISB, it's his rigid, inflexible, mind-set.

I learnt the hard way some time ago that arguing with Java Jive is a pointless exercise. He is happy to argue up is down and black is white to continue an argument he lost miles back.

He loves to call people names like at school. If you disagree with JJ you are a bigot, that's if even he can't quite manage to call you a racist.

Do you need that in your life? Killfile him as I did some time back, you'll lose nothing.

Hope that helps.

Bob.

It's two children, or two adults in their second childhood, fighting in the kindergarten playground.

If indeed there was one at all - I note that you made no attempt at an explanation, which strongly suggests to me that there wasn't one, or at least wasn't one that would withstand any attempt at provenance, but you're welcome to try and prove me wrong. After all, there has to be a first time sometime.

Don't worry yourself about it.

Others haven't missed the point.

I failed to point out before that I don't *BEGIN* these subthreads, I merely reply when someone else does, usually to debunk a lie.

That's because you don't read posts in uk.tech.digital-tv

Yet it's very odd that however often you claim to have killfiled me because of my 'robust' debunking of your endless lies, sooner or later you always reply directly to me again, thus proving that your claims to have killfiled me were just another lie.

No, we all have a right to our opinions. Full stop.
