Democrats have launched a proposal in the state of Washington to put in jail those who use gasoline-powered lawn mowers.

Slay News reports the plan from state Reps. Amy Walen and Liz Berry specifies jail for those "law-abiding citizens" if they are caught using gas-powered gardening tools.

They say that will help in their fight against "climate change," a political agenda that a coalition of some 1,600 scientists has described as not being any emergency.

The lawmakers' plan, House Bill 1868, demands no more emissions "from outdoor power equipment."

Well , there goes the logging industry . You don't really think this is aimed just at lawn mowers do you ? Back to breaking soil for your garden with a shovel ... if gardens are still allowed .

The local ordinance requires that I mow my lawn. My Honda pushmower burns about a gallon an hour.

Nancy Piglosi's frivolous jet burns 500 gallons per hour.

I doubt that most if not all that vote for the battery powered equipment have ever mowed the lawn or trimmed the hedges and other things that the gas powered lawn and garden equipment is used for.

Just hook up a wagon full of batteries and pull that behind your battery powered tractor.

I have not kept up with it as I only have a garden of about 700 sq ft but did John Deere ever produce the battery farm equipment I heard about a few years ago ?

Not that I know of . But I did have another thought about that new law . It is also going to make generators illegal ... just another step on the way to complete subjugation of the people .

Between my driveway and sidwalk I have almost 500 feet to clear the grass off when I mow if I count both sides. I do not think I want to broom that much area.

I do mow over the leaves to get rid of them. I just blow the leaves away fom the edge of the woods.

Oh, I'm pretty sure the Ann Arbor City Council has done all those things. OTOH, residential lawns in town are typically pretty small.

I point the output chute of my law tractor back at the lawn. There's minimal grass on the pavements.

I used a Stihl chainsaw to permanently remove the problem.

I never worry about grass on my sidewalk. It usually disappears after a while. But when I was mowing the lawn for the vacant house next door I would use my electric lawn mower to blow the grass off the sidewalk. It doesn't even have a chute, but it still worked. (It has a bag attachment but I don't use it.)

I picked up an old Craftsman chain saw a few weeks ago in with some other equipment. That saw requires a 16:1 oil mix. I mixed up some and the saw cranks and runs well but looks like the wood is on fire it smokes so much. Guess that with the newer oils I could go to a 30 or 40 to 1 ratio ?

I did see on youtube how to adjust the 2 cycle and the beter ones say to adjust for max speed and then screw out the high speed to lower the rpms to the rated speed .
