Have you spoken to Dyson at all about this? They might be interested to know just where the erosion is occurring.

Decided to go for the fixed price service as there other niggles that need attending to. I would have just bought a new cyclone but I was over-ruled by SWMBO. ;-)

All vacuums seem to suffer from wear. I have a old vax upstairs and the plastic bits are erroded as if somebody has been sandblasting them.
