You may or may not have noticed but some years ago most dentists got into wearing face masks. Now again most do not. Talking to my dentist, the masks are unpleasant to wear all day as they steam up his glasses and lower his productivity. I presume the surgeons you see have the same problem. keeping full coverage just for surgery.
After all, how many builders wear masks except when it is absolutely essential.

I read this drivel thinking "That's the sort of nonsense that IMM would spout". Then I check to see that it has morphed and indeed, that is the source. :-(

You should read it again, twice. You don't understand. You only like looking at scruffy buildings.

Quite. In fact, contracted out cleaning is rather more likely to produce to good cleaning than in-house, as long as the management is strong enough to sign appropriate contracts with appropriate penalty/termination/performance clauses and act on them.
Widespread concern about the over-prescription and over-use of antibiotics in sometimes innapropriate circumstances has been around for years, along with patient's frequent failure to complete courses of the drugs. As such, it's little surprise that the infections have become rather nastier and more resistant to treatment.
Phage therapy is one exciting area that is showing promising results, has been used for years in some erstwhile-USSR hospitals.
As for the proliferation of anti-bacterial household cleaning preps and containers, I won't have 'em in the house. I have faith in good old fashioned household bleach.... well, that & tea tree for cuts & grazes....

Now like IMM, I'm beginning to believe in fairies( childish ones).
Any management which cannot control it's own cleaning workforce, is not fit to manage. Having seen contract cleaning in operation, I KNOW that personal responsibility for doing a job disappears when there is another manager in the control loop. The same problems can be seen in cost controlled contract catering( pig swill), and God forbid, contract insecurity.
There was a very good reason for employing Matrons to run hospitals, they understood hospitals, which no MBA has a chance of doing in less than 20 years. They did not tolerate dirty conditions.

Lots of rhetoric and no facts, IMM bashing obviously takes precedence over reality. Evidently no-one here has visited it. I went there on a job a while ago, it seemed to be OK. Better than some places I've been, anyway.

Everything with IMM is either black or white. So people tend to react to him in the same way - after all his style doesn't invite discussion.
I've only visited it a couple of times, and I'd describe it as soulless.
But then I prefer the sort of randomness of old rather than the rigorous planning of new.
It appears to me as just one large business unit, with everything designed around that. I prefer a town centre to be a mixture of residential and commercial.

You've lost the plot, I am not "still" "whining on" about Milton Keynes, for I haven't "whined" about it in the first place. I am complaining that many articles contributed by few people seem to be written with little other objective than "IMM bashing", to the exclusion of fact, as demonstrated in this thread. I reckon about
20% of articles in uk.d-i-y are written along these lines. If IMM was a troll, that would make him a very, very successful one. Without these articles I think uk.d-i-y would be a better place, and I wish any winker possibly considering posting more such carp would shut the flip up. OK?

Mt sister and family lived there for a year.
They could never find the house except by eventually counting streets.
Even then they had to try the key to make sure it was the house they were renting that was the one they had arrived at...
