Quooker solenoid coil replacement?

Might also be worth approaching a local motor rewind place. They can normally do such things and have the kit for it.

One has to wonder why it burned out in the first place. Could it have been locked in an on position by some switch problem in the valve?

Is there a spec for the coil? Brian

How old is the unit? Does seem to me though that if it operates and then turns off then operated the other way and turns off that the real issue might be a stuck switch making the coil be on all the time and blowing its thermal cut out. Brian

The similar solenoids used on oil fired central heating boilers are on all the time the boiler is running. I had one that become open circuit after a few minutes when it had warmed up. A difficult fault to find as it disappeared shortly after the boiler stopped. Fortunately not that uncommon a problem which was why I found it mentioned on a U-Tube video.

It seems to be solidly potted in resin/plastic. It might have had a play if it was my Quooker but I?m not sure my friend would be that happy with a refurbished solenoid.

I found a similar problem on a fiends Ideal Mexico floor standing gas boiler. It would run for 5 mins or so and then stop. Eventually repeating, but never getting the place warm.

I started tracing at the programmer, and worked back to the boiler via the stat, and lastly the internal stat. It was when I got to the point I found 240V on the terminals of the gas valve and no flame we had a culprit.

Try searching on Ali Express

for "Solenoid", that will give you a hundred pages and 50 items per page of assorted solenoids to occupy the weekend.

Found the impossible to obtain DeLonghi coffee machine solenoid valve there at a price, including shipping from China, lower than the only other source, a German, wanted for postage alone.

I have the exact same issue and they want me to replace the whole insides. Did you have any luck.

Nope. Had to replace all the innards.
