A first class knob head of a customer has just gone and bought his own kit without listening to a word I said to him.

According to the reviews, the SAT connections are straight through but you will need a Labgear PSF410 (Screwfix Product Code: 61474) for UHF.

I can't see any reason why it must be fed with a Labgear product.

I would think so.

You mean one coax in direct from an aerial or splitter/amp? Then yup should be fine.

I do might/mean that:-) The customer is still unsure what he wants

I will alter the setup in the lounge so that the SKY+ in the lounge will have a return from the SKY RF-out 2 to the loft amp and then just send this to the quadplates in the bedrooms that need no SAT connections.

All that is needed (until he changes his mind) is that the bedrooms will be able to watch the RF2 output and a TV signal.

Would it hurt to run 2x coax from each quadplate to the attic? That way if multi-room sat is required it could be organised by using extra LNB outputs from the dish, or a multi-switch rather than a loft-amp?

The house has just been plastered, 2 x CT100 to the dish from the 2 bedooms and 1 x CT100 to the loft. 2 x CT100 from the lounge to the dish with 2 CT100 to the loft.

And filled with something other than plaster ...

The sensible option would be to run a pair of coax to each socket position from the loft (plus an extra one to the socket with the return). Then when he decides he does need a multiswitch, he is all set ;-)

And will he be happy with the remote sets on the RF2 feed being SD and PAL encoded?

Sorry to butt in - but is Screwfix reckoned to be the best value place to get TV cables etc? Anyone got a better source?

I would suggest CPC is usually a better bet.

Hopefully Bill Wright might like to comment. It's the quality of the cable that matters and apparently not all PF/CT 100 is of the same quality. I got mine for the last job from one of Mr Wrights competitors - no offence to Bill who offered to supply me with the cable he prefers, I just happened to be working with someone else that knows their stuff that day.

CPC is good value for their range of Triax Euromods, I buy using their multiples everytime I run out of something as I am working through moy house equipping it with ethernet, telephone, speakers and quadruplexors....
