porcelain or slate tiles ?

For kitchen floor, tiling on solid floor. Porcelain or slate tiles advantages / disadvantages ?? Looking for riven black 300mm x 600mm size.

Note: the standard to look for, for porcelain seems to be full-bodied porcelain (what does that actually mean? - seems to be related to water absorption) and usually 10-12mm thick. B&Q have some of that size that need sealing, and are apparently 5-9mm thick (according to Q&A on their website). I can't imagine what kind of crap they are if that info is true !

Cheers, Simon.
