Plumbing - pipe routing

Sooner or later I am going to have to bite the bullet and get my 22 year old boiler replaced and the system updated to comply with latest standards.



Present system has a manifold under a bedroom floor feeding the radiators with 8mm pipe to Maxitwin valves.



If it needs to be re-piped (and I have a couple of sluggish feeds) then what techniques would a decent plumber use to minimise disruption. My upper floors are all chipboard (tongue and grooved). Drops to downstairs are behind the plaster board. I dread the thought of floors being ripped up!

This seems like one of the few cases where powerflushing might actually be worthwhile, so you can leave the pipework alone.

Now I have one of the gadgets I use it when fitting all new boilers, it probably does a better job than flushing the pipework out with the filling loop but not as good but much quick than flushing each rad.

However I would reckon on the problems with the sluggish rads being likely as not a balancing problem.

The main hassle will be modify the pipework at most rads to accomodate the TRV.
