Plumbing fittings

Please can someone tell me what the difference is between an 'isolating valve' and a 'service valve'? Screwfix sell both (made by Pegler): they are different in price but appear to do the same job.

TIA Nick.

A service valve has a tap connector at one end, and usually a compression fitting at the other. An isolating valve doesn't have a tap connector - they usually have compression or push-fit fittings.
