Yes maybe the severs at home owners is run on gas?

Having said this, I do not every think the company mentioned ever made anything that was any good. When this house used gas we had a procession of P/C cookers all of which had pilot lights that went out or taps that jammed burners that got clogged and oven thermostats that never worked. A friend had a fire they made once and it smelt and sometimes refused to ignite at all. I wish them luck. :-) Brian

Go back far enough they made other things besides domestic gas appliances and at one time manufactured quite a few machine tools some of which were continued from the Parkinson or Cowan firms before the amalgamation. They made quite a few vices, an acquaintance who was a rigger searched the country for something he called a rigging vice which was used to in connection with splicing wire ropes and cables. He found one near Bristol and knowing I had one of those small trailers that could carry about 240 Kg asked if we could go and collect it, When he described it as a vice I was expecting something like a large bench vice, the bastard omitted to tell me it was mainly a cast Iron bench with specialised clamps attached whose weight was more akin to one of their kitchen ranges. The poor indespensiion units adopted a pose like a sick Triumph Herald and the Escort estate I had at the time felt the load as we climbed out of Bath on our way back to the South Coast.
