Whatever material you use, you will still need to dig down a few inches unless you want your finished surface to be higher than surrounding ground.Can you tell us a bit more about what you're trying to achieve?

It was the word "spinkle" that got me, my trackway is 1/2 a mile long, and steeply sloped, spinkle does not come to mind. Maybe it works if you have a barrat house .......

Nope. Ours is about the same. We 'sprinkle' it off the back of a tractor trailer with a rake.
