exciting moments too.

Alexei Leonov, who did the first spacewalk, was pretty near to being cast adrift when he finally managed to get back into the capsule after depressurising the suit. He seems to be a rather splendid character, I remember seeing film of him in the Soviet days when he was still active in the management. Drove a large but tatty Merc. Co-wrote a good book with a US astronaut, and did a talk at the Science Museum a few years ago which I was sorry to miss.

Oddly enough there is a lack of on off switches on some broadcast equipment as its never intended to be turned off anyway!..

Orban sound broadcast processors are like that!

There's some logic to that, eliminates one problem! Recently bought a separate microphone to improve videos taken on my mirrorless. First time I used it I managed to switch it off without realising, half way through a recording.

Ah, but it takes a lot of skill to produce the forms with so many boxes that no-one knows how to fill in and/or the computerised expenses system that takes longer to fill in than the trip you are claiming for.

Matter of fact, it's all dark...

Not even that if you use a pure oxygen atmosphere. 1/5th pressure of pure oxygen, and leave the nitrogen at home.

(The Apollo 1 disaster was a pure oxygen full pressure atmosphere. That's dangerous...)

Andy

Except humans can't breath pure Oxygen ? (Or am I mistaken)

Sadly we found out the hard way. Plus hatches that can't be opened from the inside :(

Brave men. I still salute them.

You can breath pure oxygen at reduced pressure indefinitely. You can even breath pure oxygen at normal pressure for a while. It becomes toxic at higher pressure for even short periods or at normal pressure if breathed for long periods.

SteveW

You are mistaken. At normal atmospheric pressure it?s not good for your lungs for long periods but you can definitely breathe it.
