Yes, the reason for exiting is the EU's fault, the consequences are the EU's problem.

I love dubblethink

"There is an open border, but it's under strictly controlled conditions".

Like Checkpoint Charlie?

What about people?

Both allow free movement of people. Something Brexiteers won't agree to.

Switzerland is in the Schengen area but not in the Customs Union, so although the border is nominally open, manned border posts are still very much in evidence and vehicles may be stopped to check for contraband.

Anecdote time: 20-odd years ago I was standing more or less at the spot where the first picture in the article was taken when a car pulled up. A guy leaned out and asked me if I knew where the scrapyard was, but I was unable to help.

Small posts, especially near where I used to live in Switzerland, no longer exist. The houses used to house the French/Swiss customs officers have now been converted to residences.

The controlled conditions is that they have to accept the EU freedoms that are explicitly rejected by our Brexiteers. I think the Norway model would be on offer if we wanted it.

Just as true of the border with Eire now.

Just as true of people with what you have to have to work in either place legally.

It wont be the EU's problem for long.

It was Britains problem before the EU and the Yanks stepped in and it will be Britains problem again if they govern with the skills they have demonstrated over the decades.

Anyway why are you dabbling in an Irish thread you nasty little racist. They are mainly white you know, even the Proddies.

And with the NI border, while they don't have manned border posts, vehicles may be and are periodically stopped to check for contraband away from the border and there is no reason why that can't continue with the UK out of the EU like Switzerland and Norway already are.

Yes. If you stop to think you will understand why.

Remoaners cant think. They let someone else tell them what to do. Thats why they are so scared of leaving. Ther won't be anyone

If you want to see real fear, wait till Brexit. A snarl up with food imports will produce out and out panic.

Look at what people buy in supermarkets. Buying basic ingredients is rare now.

I remember UK bread strikes, people were ready to kill for a loaf, they would queue for hours.

Anyway it seems to me that all the fear is coming from those wishing to leave. Threats of violence toward those wishing to remain is hardly a sign of peace and tranquility is it now?

Brexit isn't something to fear, it's a source of opportunity. Irelands budget suggests the country is going in the right direction and I am fairly sure the country will ride out Brexit with success.

Onward & Upward!! AB

That'll be why you adore that nice Mr Farage, then. Never off the TV before the referendum telling you what to do. And the vast majority of the press.
