Looking at some of the other lots it looks like a nursery is the source of them. I wonder if someone there bought them at a knockdown price in a previous sale thinking that something that can hold a stick vertically on the back of a mobility scooter could probably be stuck in the ground and hold a cane to support a plant, but what seemed a good idea at the time didn?t work out as well as hoped.

It is certainly not uncommon to see things advertised in two consecutive weekly auctions. There must be plenty of these things in all those boxes.
