OT - Safety is paramount

Out for a walk and saw two workers gunning some mastic into a gap between two concrete castings.

The back of the reflective jacket said something like "Safety is Paramount in the Working Environment".

Given that the workers (in my unkind opinion) looked as though they would struggle reading "Wimpey" because it had two syllables I suspect that the logo was not aimed at them.

More likely intended to demonstrate that there was a Safety Policy in place if one of the poor buggers got hit by a piece of equipment.

Cheers

And provide cause for unfounded confidence.

A better wording might be "Phone xxxxx if you believe this worker is not working safely"!

It wasn't a Japanese/Chinese construction company by any chance?

That phrase looks suspiciously like a modern UK management speak translation of a well known Japanese safety slogan "Anzen dai-ichi" literally "Safety is Number 1" colloquially "Safety First".

My friend has seen that legend. I think it might be a purchasable item. In fact he told me that the bloke who nearly fell off the roof of the Guild Hall while fitting safety rails earlier in the year was wearing one. No really. Of course accidents will always happen no matter what you do. I mean if you can slip over on a copy of a dodgy magazine on a floor there is no hope for any of us. Luckily, I still bounce quite well. I was just wondering how, from a glance the above was able to deduce the reading expertise of the people concerned. They might in fact be Polish Lexicologists. Brian
