Don?t need to, that is what happened.

Germany never had the capacity to invade Britain successfully.

France became the world's fifth largest economy on Friday.

You must have a different set of history books from me. The USA was still neutral when Operation Sealion was suspended indefinitely and we were buying arms from them.

It is, however, a mark of the confidence of the military that we were more than able to defend ourselves that we sent a large contingent of tanks to North Africa while the invasion fleet was still active.

Well it wouldn't have BEEN a nation in the EU much longer. What about 'ever closer integration' and 'unlimited immigration' do you not understand?

She has worked out how to gain power, but she has no idea how to exercise it, most certainly not on behalf of the people, which is pretty much the hallmark of Communists and the Left.

Not too bad, and not for long.

Britain has more reasons for success than a failed political Union.

It could have, if it had been able to cross the channel unhampered by RAF or RN.

Once one port was taken, the materiel would have come flooding across.

Even the former remain campaign leadership are now admitting a short term instability and they are now saying that the government will have to govern and make sure that this doesn't happen.

How much longer is the economy of the rest of the EU going to remain stable? The problems with the economies of Greece, Spain, Italy didn't disappear - just put off for another day.

That was never going to be possible.

Like hell it would. Germany never had the capacity to take one port, let alone flood the materiel across.

They never got even close to doing that in the Med and that is much further away than the channel.

How long do we have to wait?

I think a couple of weeks.

When the EU once again utterly fails to come up with any cogent policy whatsoever.

The EUmperor, has no clothes.

If you mean the deal that Dave got earlier in the year, that nice Mr Juncker has declared that to be dull and void after the referendum result. Of course, he may be being hasty. I thought that the deal, such as it was, was only invalid after Article 50 was invoked.

The German High Command didn't think so, which is why Operation Sealion was suspended indefinitely.

WW1 gave us a lot of experience in supplying a modern army across the channel. Based upon that, the British WW2 planners calculated that, even without any opposition, Germany could only keep three divisions supplied until they got Dover and Folkestone working, after which they ought to be able to keep six divisions supplied. The sabotage to the two ports was expected to take at least eight weeks to repair. The minimum force needed to make the invasion a success was calculated to be nine divisions. The scenario has been investigated in depth many times since and it is generally agreed that the British planners got the figures right.
