I use Tesco but as you say, they no longer sell them. They have the advantage of working on the back of the O2 network, which is half the frequency of Three etc., so coverage is better.
However ASDA do one, and it now uses Vodafone, which is in the same frequency band as O2.
I get the impression that dedicated data sims are being phased out, and the restrictions on tethering on "normal" sims removed. Hence you can use any old sim with bundled data for shared broadband access.
(Many people make use of their phones as hot spots now)
