OT:Most blatant UK/US rip off yet ?

I would have thought UK would be ahead of us in stupid rules,We have banned open bowls. At the church fetes they have to have dispensers or sachets if public do it themselves, they are even supposed to publish all the ingredients of home made cakes etc

Something with which I entirely agree.

A vast number of people have to be careful about one or more ingredients. Maybe not life-threatening to most, but can be unpleasant in effect.

We see the members of the standard list (gluten, crustaceans, molluscs, eggs, fish, peanuts, nuts, soybeans, milk, celery, mustard, sesame, lupin and sulphur dioxide) on products all the time.

I am sure many of us, especially those who need to avoid eggs, will recognise that by far the majority of cakes contain eggs. Other things can be a real surprise, but that surprise can often easily be avoided by a simple list.

I've often wondered about items posted at ludicrously high prices on eBay, but why would they feel the need to employ a holding tactic ? Presumably it is costing them money to offer the item for sale on eBay so why bother whe n you have no stock ?

It's because they get ranked higher if an item has been listed for a longer time. If they take it down, the listing clock starts again. But if it's merely priced at a million pounds, the listing keeps going.

In other words, the fault of ebay's policies.

For continuously listed 'buy it now' but with 'make an offer' items it hides the 'make an offer prices'

Once a listing expires the 'make an offer' prices are visible along with the accepted / rejected status
