I seem to get this more often than not when trying to access the Lidl website:

It doesn't make any difference, although at first I thought it did. I get the "http" permission error message even if the browser tells me that it's actually the "https" page it is accessing.
The strange thing is that sometimes the lidl website seems to work ok, then I'll click on a link to a page which gives me the "no permission" error message. Even stranger, if I then click on the back arrow to return to the page which worked, that page now shows the error message! So I guess it's the Lidl server caching my website details and once it generates the error message, it reads all access from my browser as requiring that error message.
Perhaps your browser isn't upgrading you to https:// for some reason? (are you on XP or something?)

Linux Mint 20.1 x64. I get the same error messages whether I use Pale Moon 29.4.1 or Firefox 93.0 (https-only mode not enabled. I've just enabled it and will try again after rebooting).
Doubt it as it occurs with Pale Moon and Firefox, and they use different addons.
Probably thinks you are under 18....
Could your security certificates be out of date on an old PC?
Works for me, but it's all about fireworks.
Do you have any router or ISP based filtering that might block that? Because it might not actually be Lidl that is blocking it.

Yes, in all browsers including Edge.
Pale Moon, Firefox, Edge and Vivaldi all change it to https, even if I remove the 's' and try again. All fail.

It has to be your and PeterC's systems. Perhaps they are sentient and are protecting you from yourselves?
Hmm, there are so many reasons from ssl certificates to something wrong with the site itself. Is this the only site affected? Brian
That should not matter as normally like if using IE, you get the accessdenied all the time, or never, the now you see it now you don't seems quite counter intuitive unless its some odball anti virus or the internet zone used is flaky in windows, but if that were the case many sites would give the same problem. I'm wondering if he is using the biggest virus we know called Norton 360, which is a heap of doggy dooos if you use its built in vpn or whatever they are calling it this month. Brian
Well proxy servers and the writing of cookies and reading from them on your machine can all be causes of this problem. Also there are black lists around that can dynamically decide if what you are doing is allowable. I'd not expect such a large online player, though of having a messy configuration of its servers to be so picky. Very odd. Brian
