As its fireworks it must be an age filter on your system somewhere.

On this, it loads even on an ancient version of Opera where half the safety certificates are out of date..

I've not been able to access Lidl for months with IE or Pale Moon. Lots of activity in the status bar regarding Bing.com. Eventually get a blurred page or message 'This page can't be displayed' or 'Access denied'. Brave browser accesses their site ok.

As a few of us are seeing this issue with different browsers (and even OSs), it looks more and more like it's a Lidl website coding issue. Some others with a lot more experience than me have said that when looking at the browser Error Console, there are loads of errors and warnings. They guessed that Lidl have made a mess of http:// and https:// links embedded as hard links in their scripts, and not lined everything up to match.

It doesn't explain why only a few are seeing this problem, though. Lidl don't seem to have an option to contact them about website issues, unfortunately. If it happens again I'll try Brave on my smartphone to access the website, rather than use the Linux Mint laptop.

Just be thankful its not BarclayCunts share trading platform which still hadn't fixed the bugs 5 years after I told them about it - no matter what you said you were, if it somehow detected a Linux machine it would tell you to update your browser or f*ck off - when I finally gave up and transferred all my savings to a better trading platform.

I had a little red alarm bell at the top of the screen saying '2 messages waiting' for 4 years, When you clicked on it it said 'no messages waiting'.

These people employ ArtStudents who use 'frameworks' and 'content managers' which probably have the bugs in. But they have no idea how to fix them and so it just limps along full of bugs.

Bo one wants to spend money on software engineers at 60k a year when you can get an ArtStudent for 16.

It's about to get worse, microsoft are working on AI within the IDE, that grabs code snippets it thinks you want from other people's code in github, no more having to ask novice questions on stackoverflow just paste megabytes of code you don't understand!

Right, this is weird! I installed Brave (it didn't ask where I wanted it, just installed and opened. I couldn't find a portable version. Loadsacrap left when removed). Tried Lidl; OK. Tried Lidl in all the other 4 browsers; OK! Uninstalled Brave; no browser will open Lidl PM Portable. no mods at all, same result, so not an extension.
