OT: Has anybody had braces fitted at 50+, 60+, etc?

I've been asking around and I have been quoted in excess of £4k for adult braces. Apparently, braces are ore expensive than Invisalign, which are just cosmetic braces.

I'm in Brum, btw. Willing to go abroad if necessary and worth it.

I have read that Italians go to Croatia to fix their teeth and it shouldn't cost much more travelling to Croatia from here, but I'd not where to start.

I had some ortho work done when I was about 55, including upper and lower braces - but I dont remember paying £4k (no NHS treatment at all)

I dont recall being offered Invisalign

I was a bit fed up with it at the end, as putting the retainer plates in after the treatment was probably the most painful bit, but basically happy with the results

Hungary is also quite popular for dental tourism - I remember when I worked in Austria for a while, people would go across the border to Szombathely which seems to be a bit of a centre for it - I just checked google and theres one of them called "Caries" :-\

Yeah, that's where I went about 20 years ago for implants and crowns.
