I had a friend in college, a chem major. I left Chicago and came back for a visit, and he had been in grad school but I was told he was in jail for making some kind of drug.

During college he told me he'd visited the Oriental Institute (which, other than offices, is basically a museum for stuff the university archaeologists brought back from Egypt around 1920) and unlocked one of the windows, behind a big curtain. He wanted me to help him go in at night and steal an Egyptian death mask. But he woudln't promise to return it later.

He ended up doing it himself or with someone else and leaving it outside the door of a girl that I guess he had a crush on, in the dorm. She found it in the morning and called the campus police. I don't think he got in trouble for that one.
