Thank you so much for brightening up a dull post-holiday Tuesday morning ;-)

It was funny enough before I got to the additions at the bottom...

I don't find it funny at all, it's written by someone with no idea about the real world. It infuriates me.

written by an American clown. He obviously has no idea what it's meant to be and expects too much from a cheap table. Unless he paid a fortune for it in which case he was robbed, because they are only cheap tables.

Did you find the table amusing, or was it the obvious stupidity of the operator?

Even SWMBO got a chuckle out of that one.

You appear to meet Oscar Wilde's description of a cynic as someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. No offence.

Even if the table was a cheap piece of crap, and the buyer an idiot, he still has a sense of humour.

None taken. It just seemed to me like the operator the quality of a $500 table for $50.

He's American, a sense of humour is pushing it a little! ;-)

Even so, I found the extent of his hatred for the thing amusing ;-)

This is slightly unfair. Although you will meet many Americans on whom irony is completely wasted, there are some who "get it". I especially liked the responses to (unseen) emails in the Ebay blurb, but perhaps you have to have seen "Jackie Brown" to understand one of them. Hmm, worryingly, I think I recall the credits on that film did suggest the particular sequence to have been genuine, and not made up by Tarantino !
