The dual sim version definitely has NFC. I use it to write tags to avoid the lock in on the xyz junior 3d printer I have.

Perhaps you were referring to the Moto G5 as the Moto G6 I linked to does have NFC.

What's that about, the printer trying to force you to only buy approved filament, similar to inkjet cartridges?

Yes, you actually are that stupid. Its mostly used for stuff like electronic door locks and stuff like that.
That may just be because he doesn?t realise what its useful for.

Thanks, but showing at £320 at the moment on Amazon which is far closer to newer phones than the £265 you quoted, which is a very attractive price.

Certainly looks very tempting.
Reading through the Amazon reviews and there seems to be some concern about signal reception, but nothing definite.

Now looking at the One Plus range.
Anyone have experience of these?
Best price on a OnePlus 6 seems to be around £439 which is just withing the target range.
I've been pointed towards some pretty good phones for around £200 and am now struggling with working out what extra I get for the money.
Screen real estate is a good thing.
I'm also wondering if I should look for an IP rating - waterproofing is the one thing the Motorola G6 doesn't seem to have.
Cheers

We have 2 x Samsung Galaxy s7 and 2 x Moto G5S here. £260 for the former, <£200 for the later.
The G5S is a good phone and very good value for money. However, there is no comparison with the S7. The S7 was the premium Samsung phone a couple of years ago - around £600. Very little has changed since (unless you believe the marketeers), so at £260 it is a real bargain in my opinion:
- G5S is heavier
- Camera on the Samsung is much much better (no comparison).
- S7 is slimmer and a little lighter
- Signal reception and wifi on the S7 is much better. We have weak signal here and the G5S occasionally struggles. Same with WiFi. Never an issue with the S7.
- Screen much better on the S7: 1440 x 2560 pixels (~577 ppi density) compared with 1080 x 1920 pixels (~424 ppi density). Difference is obvious.
- etc
Well worth paying the little extra.

Another vote for Moto, my phone previous to this big screen one was a Moto and I remember it fondly and will look at Moto for my next one.

Not a rep-rap printer. No way would you be able to print one.
Injection moulded covers pressed steel and 20x20 frame their own design hot end etc.
It did print out of the box.
I have an ender 3 too and use that for most stuff due to me putting on auto levelling and a glass build plate.

Its water repellent with some sort of coating applied inside and out. It works fine in the rain but I haven't tried swimming with it.
My old Sony Xz3 was water proof, until the back started to peel off after a couple of years. Now you can't even use it in the rain.

Thanks for that. Very tempting.
Just missing the dual SIM which was a temptation for an upgrade.
Also probably well down the line for O/S updates.
Still, I bought the S5 as end of line and that has done well.
Looks much the same as the S3 onwards, plus wireless charging. No exchangeable battery.
Safe option, but should I go more modern?
