OT: Amazon age verification

I'm trying to order a utility knife from Amazon. They've put in a new system of age verification at the point of sale, and it doesn't appear to be working very well. It doesn't allow the item to be ordered without passing age verification, which appears to be impossible for some people.

Has anyone else been successful at purchasing a bladed article in the last week or two?

Has anyone else been foiled by the new system?

Worked fine for me - although I did wonder how I could stab someone with some Gillette fusion razor blades?

You could slit their throats

I gave up with Amazon. I've bought similar items from Temu - much cheaper, and the age verification worked first time. Same card, same address etc, and it just simply worked.

And next will be mental state verification ...

Everyone will have an identity card written with more codes on the reverse than that on the current driving license photo card.

Of course, they will run out of space - so it will have to be digital, QR tattoo on the forehead....

We already have the identity chip inserted under our skin at the same time as the Covid jab. The Government just need to activate the reading terminals and allow more access via nfc on our mobile phones or computers :)

Golly, I must have dozens of new identities by now...

Not without a huge amount of effort dismantling it, each individual blade is extremely small.

Much easier to buy a 12 inch metal ruler (which is not blade verified) and sharpen it on a grinder and which could also be used for stabbing.

Not for the average thick teenager who has never heard of a ruler or a grinding stone.
