New Part L reminder

Apr 01, 2009 4 Replies

Just a reminder to everyone that under the new Part L rules coming into force today all domestic radiators need to be painted black before the end of this month. This regulation has been brought in to increase energy efficiency.

A government spokesman said "we expect the result of this new regulation to be reflected in a marked reduction in gas usage during the next quarter".

The preferred paint is Dulux Fool's Black, colour code APR01

Don't give them any more ideas ;-)

My interpretation that to prevent excessive heat losses from rads you were supposed to lag them :-p

...

May I point out that because Easter falls in the first quarter of the new moon (or however they work it out) April Fool's Day - or "All Fools' Day" as it's officially known - is actually on the 2nd of April this year. So I'm sorry, Tony, you were a bit premature with that one.

I've just cornered the market in that paint. I should make a fortune!

Bloody Gregorian calendar, give us back our 14 days!
