Not really.
Look at Spike, he is reduced to counting other people?s posts. It has only been a few weeks. What is he going to be like after another 3 or 4?
You have your wife.
I have mine, plus we can go out and signs are those who have had it will get an early pass.
All those over 70 were advised to stay at home. We've now been stuckat home for 4 weeks
I?m pretty sure Andy isn?t anywhere near 70.
Those who are fall into the group who have it worse than us who can go out etc. That is why we shouldn?t really be whining.
Sadly, confinement has exacerbated the bitter nature of some like Spike. I dread to think what state they will be in after another 3 or 4 weeks. I can?t help thinking the sale of alcohol should have been banned for the duration.
Sounds like you are getting bored with the facilities at Falcon's Nest, what with a posting rate of one message per hour, day and night, since lockdown began[1], sitting in your garden counting contrails, baking bread and then having to eat it, and keeping your albatross of a caravan from decaying during its lay-off from European booze-cruises.
[1] At the time of writing, 532 messages to ukra, ukdiy, and ulm, in a very similar number of hours. If the consumption of alcohol was banned instead, your year's supply of booze-cruised wine would be of no use to you, so it's easy for you to suggest measures to control others lives while not being affected yourself. What a sad[2] specimen you really are.
[2] 'f***ed up' might be a better descriptor.
I'm not subject to extra confinement.
Unless at special risk through a medical condition, still allowed out for exercise, etc?
Why so bitter, then? Just your normal state?
just seen an old mummin' 80 if she is a day wander past the house....shocking
totly is
no
sounding like cole for a minute there...
I do need to avoid going out as I am immunosuppressed just now.
However I am almost never at home, I hillwalk, camp all year round, I mountain bike, DofE assessor and bushcraft instructor and I'm a glider pilot. It is a rare weekend that I am at home on a weekend and I am typically at home 2 evening in a working week. It is quite an adjustment but I am adjusting.
I am running out of antennas to build though. My copper pipe 2m/70cm dipole is just finished and ready for testing.
I am also ready to start remote training of foundation candidates now that remote testing is up and running. That should fill in some time.
Andy
Ok, I wasn?t aware of that. I was going by previous posts which suggested you were active etc. Sorry. Stay safe.
I used to be a DoE assessor etc. - we did it at school. The ?expeditions? were always good fun.
I?m tinkering with a few things.
Good luck.
Its odd, but I feel less alienated than usual during this crisis. As an old fart living alone, much of my life is spent in glorious isolation, with thoughts of mortality often present.
Now everyone else is in the same boat. Hah!
Its amazing how the 'public consciousness' mutates and adapts to circumstance.
Normal politics, social justiss, climb-it change, sports and slebs have all taken a back seat and people are far more worried about medical stuff, getting food and actually ending up alive and with a viable lifestyle at the end of it. Just as they do in a war situation.
Well it should do nothing but good.
Was Greta Thunberg a Super Carrier? And Aircraft Carrier? Or Just a Carrier bag?
Frankly who the f*ck cares?
The only symptom of the Chinese Virus Greta is suffering from is reserved for Eco Terrorists, ?influencers?, celebrities, millennial snowflakes etc Lack of attentionitsis.
Warning signs include: licking toilet seats, screwing up your face like a rhinos backside, .....
I'm on an auto-immune flare-up so the immuno-suppressants keep things under control.
The three levels of the licence dovetail in nicely with the DofE Skill sections.
My main tinkering project just now is using UHF SA818 modules and arduino nanos as short range rdf foxhunting/radio orienteering beacons. My local outdoor centre is looking for new activities to run when this is all over.
Andy
Plenty aren't, most obviously with the younger ones.
Not really.
Plenty aren't.
Yeah, particularly those who eat out a lot.
Plenty don?t worry about that even now.
Plenty do worry about their jobs tho.
Nothing like what most do in a war situation, because hardly any get conscripted in a pandemic.
It has to do a lot of damage to the freedom of movement of many of them. For a long time with movement into and out of the country.
Unlikely.
Convenient that it has shut her up for a while.
I can?t be the only one here that finds your vitriolic hatred of a child with learning difficulties deeply disturbing, Brian. What is wrong with you?
That explains a lot about your choice in friends.
