The main over has recently started to burn food. The temperature is very hot. Even when on the lowest setting it takes seconds to burn. Help

It needs fixing. Probably.
probably a faulty thermostat.
Seconds though? I doubt that.

If the thermostat has failed then it won't get hot any quicker - it will just keep getting hotter though
Swapped two in the last week that were doing just that.
Well find a decent usenet posting system and tell us more details. Sounds like the control equipment is fixed full on to me. They probably use some kind of thyristor control these days so really you need to get the manual and then see if the control gear can be replaced easily. Brian
