Almost inelastic supply and doubling of (monetary) demand did that, not the poor innocent estate agents!

Are you actually saying everyone made enough money to be able to afford to buy a house?

Bit simplistic, that. With the increasing affluence after WW2, lots wanted things like cars and expensive holidays.

Then how do you explain the much faster rise in house prices in the 70s and 80s? Did everyone have several wives?

And you're wrong there too.

Richard Gordon (author of the Doctor...books and himself a doctor) said the NHS existed so that the great British public could have their foreign holidays.
