Makita 9565CV

My old as the hills Bosch 5" angle grinder has just died:-(

A superficial check didn't find any obvious fault so I started pricing a replacement. It appears Bosch no longer do a variable speed 5" version.

Makita do but at a rather frightening 140ukp and they refer to a

*variable speed trigger* which I find worrying. Can anyone comment on how their speed settings are achieved?

A lot of the use is for wire brushing and full speed on these small machines is a bit dangerous.

Kress do several 125mm grinders with variable speed dial separate to the trigger. Got mine from the late BMJ Power, about =A350, must be getting on for ten years old and still doing sterling service. Kress have a couple of service agents in London and Yorkshire if you want to track one down.

Apologies if this is interpreted as an invitation to the group troll to start another "Kress aren't professional" rant.

Your anticipatory apology seems to have worked. I struggled to find a UK Kress supplier and luckily the Bosch death was premature and has been resurrected by replacing a broken *fast on* connector:-)

regards
