My old as the hills Bosch 5" angle grinder has just died:-(
A superficial check didn't find any obvious fault so I started pricing a replacement. It appears Bosch no longer do a variable speed 5" version.
Makita do but at a rather frightening 140ukp and they refer to a
*variable speed trigger* which I find worrying. Can anyone comment on how their speed settings are achieved?A lot of the use is for wire brushing and full speed on these small machines is a bit dangerous.

Kress do several 125mm grinders with variable speed dial separate to the trigger. Got mine from the late BMJ Power, about =A350, must be getting on for ten years old and still doing sterling service. Kress have a couple of service agents in London and Yorkshire if you want to track one down.

Your anticipatory apology seems to have worked. I struggled to find a UK Kress supplier and luckily the Bosch death was premature and has been resurrected by replacing a broken *fast on* connector:-)
