LED G9

Has anyone any recommendations for a dimmable G9 LED to replace some 40watt halogens in lounge ceiling light.

I thought the general recommendation was avoid G9 LEDs because the fittings are generally too small to allow decent cooling, so the lamps die young?

Yes, LED G9 light output goes up to about 20W equivalent. They probably won't draw enough current for an existing dimmer to work, but you can get dimmers suitable for LEDs.

Yes, change the light fitting to get away from G9s. I replaced my 42W G9 halogens with supposedly bright G9 LEDS, and even new they were much dimmer. Don't believe the lumen figures!

Die young stay pretty. I'm not always convinced this should be the case, but I suppose it depends where the dissipation is. Brian
