By tomorrow the push will have been stolen and they inmates will be setting it off every time a screw walks past

This must be the open prison where he is working.
Do the lags get arrested by plod for being outside ?, or is that reserved for members of the public who have the temerity to sit on the beach or in a park.
Actually when they walk to work at the garden centre across the road they keep 2m apart.
Lockdown is at 10.30pm but they are sleeping in the portacabins in the garden and they have their own keys.
Going out of the grounds without authorisation would probably mean a transfer to New Hall.
