How to save $100 or so, The idler pulleys on my toro wheel horse are around $60 each from the mower agents and not made for bearing replacement. pic.

So penny pinching me did this although the spot welds took a bit of work locating.

The bearings are common 6203 sealed, couple of dollars each.

Well, a wheel horse is a new one on me, garden tractor or ride on mower are more usual names up here

I did not.I figured out where the spot welds on the existing pulleys were and drilled through the centre of each spot.

Ah! good job. You could put it on the wiki with a heading like Pulley repair if you like, or just let us know we can use the pictures.

Wheel horse was the name of a lawn mower manufacturer. You saw them over here back in the sixties. Haven't seen one for years now.

Sounds like some proprietary name to me. Now if this person was a true capitalist, he would have bought in a supply and got a jig made for the welds and started to flog them at under the price of the real replacements.

This person could not be bothered with such a waste of time and effort as it is very economical the way I do it, it would not be by the time all the effort of design and jig making was expended.
