How should I treat my parquet floor

Just spent the last 8 weeks fitting a new parquet floor.

It's made of maple and I would like to keep the wood looking natural, I'd like a high gloss finish but don't really want to use varnish...

anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I think you should think twice about the high gloss - I find that reflections obscure the wood floor, and if the sun reflects off it, it can be very dazzling when you're trying to read the paper etc

I've always like oleo-resinous seals like Bourneseal

as old boots, much tougher than varnish. Nice thing about it is that it soaks into the surface rather than forming a coating on top - which means its very easy to touch up high traffic wear areas.

Not high gloss though, nice natural sheen.

Parky flooring should be waxed and polished IMHO.
