How annoying is that?

I had a 2 hour break last night 'unexpected dangerous situation' - no idea what it was.

Three dropouts yesterday, UPS cut in for them, so router/switch/phones ok. All the various gadgets around the house reset, oven was on at the time and didn't go back to flashing 12:00

Annual event here. The village has 11kV overheads and buried linking us to the neighbouring towns. I get a modest wayleave payment for the overhead section.

Minor annoyance is the Wi-Fi radio set turning on. I can live with re-setting cooker clocks.

Fixable with a UPS...

Although as I discovered recently when we had a power cut, you can only ride out such interruptions with a certain smugness if when you reorganise your wiring you don't accidentally plug the pc back into mains power rather than supported power. DAMHIK.

For my age group, BT kindly provided battery back up for the telephone and the router. No help for the PCs:-)

Seems OK after a long rest. I ran the W11 repair disk but I am not sure it did anything:-)

Did he really think that they rowed all the way from Calais or across the Dogger bank ?

Last year apparently a migrant boat was intercepted off the Devon coast, so probably a longer distance away from Calais?

More of a farce than most people know. The rowers want to go Lands End to John O Groats. They rowed halfway up the East coast before realising the currents in the Irish Sea were too strong for them. So, they rowed back to Lands End, and they are now trying the other way round (following the route of the Spanish Armada but hopefully they'll survive).

Lets hope they knew that the IRISH sea is on the *West* coast of Great Britain, and didn't end up rowing from Dublin to Belfast instead.

Haha! Serves me right for making fun of people raising money for charity. :)
