I have a 20mm hole through some box section, I need to enlarge the hole to ~30mm on one side. I'm aware of the hole saw trick where you remove the pilot drill, instead using the 20mm holesaw as "pilot" in the existing hole with the 30mm holesaw concentric around it.
Well, that's the theory ... I presume there are some arbours that are metric thread, others are imperial? I seem to have a mixture, but the lone arbour that fits my 20mm holesaw doesn't have the flats on the shaft to get a grip on the larger holesaws :-(
I also have a couple of the fancy arbours with the pins that get pushed into the back of the holesaw, but they all seem to be for much larger holesaws and can't get access into the location I need.
So, do you have to be /lucky/ to use that trick, or buy every arbour going to find one with the threads that fit the small holesaw, while having the flats that fit the large holesaw?
