Today I decided to pull up Lino in Bathroom before painting the Skirtin
Board. I have now been left with a sticky floor. (stick to it if I tr and walk on it).
What do I need to use or do to get rid of the sticky floor.
I know what you're all thinking - Hopeless female doing DIY - gets i wrong!!!!
Please take pity on me and offer some sensible (practical) advice.
Will eventually be putting down new Lino or laminat

Depends what sort of sticky it is - I'd try a hot air gun and a flat scraper to see if that removed the worst of it, possibly followed by scrubbing with white spirit or similar.
You could always just put the old lino back - maybe trim the edge back if it's getting in the way of your decorating. In any other room I'd say just cover the goo with paper, but in a bathroom I don't think that would work too well. How about a liberal sprinkling of talcum powder?
Why take up the old lino if you are not ready to replace it?
Check out the floor for lumps and bumps, nails etc sticking up. Remember to use the old lino as a pattern if it is not too unbearable. Cut vinyl a little larger than the old to allow for shrinking.
A laye rof newspaper will act as an underlay. The stickiness is likely to be oil from the lino. I believe it was made with linseed oil and was at one time also called oilcloth?

You have 2 choices
1) remove the glue - a lot of hard work2) stick something to the glue, talc, dust, newspaper whatever takes your fancy.

Well if you intend fitting laminate later , put down some laminate underlay now. You wont then have to ask how to stick that down.
