Off the top of my head ...
Last Sunday - went to fit new guitar strings. Wrong ones. Rather than wait 6 days to go to the nearest shop ordered online - delivered Tuesday
Last month - wanted a flip case for my phone, rather than sleeve type. Vaguely looked in "shops" but they only sell iShit. Went to Amazon. Ordered. Delivered next day.
SWMBO needed a spare pair of specialist sunglasses. Didn't even bother going into shops - ordered online, delivered 2 days later.
Last year, needed OxyPilot. Ordered online, delivered 2 days later.
UPS and scooter batteries - ordered online, delivered next day.
and so on ....
Whereas weekend just gone, we went to a local shopping centre, as I needed my wedding ring resized (losing weight) - which is one of the instances where you *need* to go to a shop. While we were there, SWMBO thought to look for a waistbag (she hates the term bum bag). After a round robin of 5 shops (each suggesting the next) she decided to order something online.
Each of the 5 shops said they _used_ to sell such things ...
So big fan of online life here. Mind you, (a) I live in a city, and (b) I work from home (so deliveries are never an issue).
The elements don't last as long as would have hoped. We are now on our
3rd, in maybe 25 years.
I assume that they all self destructed on Christmas Eve? That seems to be their pre-programmed self destruct date these days.

The intelligent ones can also self detruct during a childs birthday party when the pizza go into the oven - thus causing the bouncy castle to deflate and trap a couple of kids.
Another supplier I'd recommend is SPARES-2-GO. I ordered a replacement grill element for my Hotpoint upper oven and it was very cheap and delivery very quick.

It's a case of how long is a piece of string? Some people do a lot of cooking, others not so much. I am single, therefore my oven gets less use than, say, a family of four's oven would.
My Hotpoint double oven (upper oven's element doubles up as a grill) has lasted 10 years so far. It's had one main element (lower oven) replaced and one of the grill elements in the upper oven as well. Again, on the basis of less use prolongs life, it was the LEFT grill element that went, and this is the one I use mostly. The right one hardly ever gets switched on for grilling (although of course both are on for oven use).

For me, online shopping has two big advantages, better product selection and lower price. I am just looking forward to the day when I can order a pair of shoes that fit my feet (at a reasonable price). I prefer delivery by the postman as I know when he will come. Carriers that give you a 1 hour time slot are also desireable.
Assuming you don't have odd feet.
Clarks do free delivery and free returns - so you can order multiple shoes/sizes and try them for size at home.
M&S as well, Tesco clothing similar, I'm sure others retailers do as well
Amazon do the same for their clothes and shoes I think.
DPD on Monday: 1-hour slot, 4 hours late - he'd managed to lock himself out of his van! On Friday, a van turned up at about 8 p.m. The original driver had 'phoned in at lunch time to say he was quitting and the keys were in the van - says something for the stress on these drivers.
