Finishing off an unstuck exterior door

Sep 10, 2008 2 Replies

Hi,

I unstuck a friend's exterior porch door by simply belt sanding the bottom of the door. The door had been sticking on the tiles for years. Easy job, much kudos. Now, none of the bottom of the door had previously been painted. I'm wondering whether I should paint or otherwise treat the bottom of the door - especially being exterior isn't it vulnerable to water ingress and future swelling or cracking?

Thanks

Clive

I always rub candle wax along the bottom edge. Cheap, easy, and 100% waterproof.
