Hi Group Anyone know if its necessary to earth a new cooker hood extractor fan with light? The one supplied only had the live/neutral wires attached.....

Look at the rating plate - if it has a symbol with a square inside another square then its "double insulated" and won`t have an earth connection.

Most are double insulated nowadays, i.e. require no earth. I've not fitted one with an earth for a while, if you're still unsure do as Colin says.
