e.on's heavily pushed new fixed tariff

*People* putting the heating on? I've got this magic invention called a thermostat that puts the heating on for me. Maybe it's not very well known as it's only been around for about 400 years.

Then more suited for higher energy users. Have you worked out where the cross over point is?

Ah yes. That thing on the wall that you turn up all the way to put the heating on and down all the way to turn it off :-)

As comes up here regularly, some people like to leave it under stat control. some people turn it off.

I turn ours off (ok actually the temp right down to 10C), as we get period at the beginning and end of the heating season when the heating comes on for a bit morning and evening soemtimes, when I don't feel we need it, and it doesn't seem to benefit us really, just waste gas.

Probably becuase we have an old victorian house, solid walls, quite a bit thermal mass, takes a while to get up to 'operating temp' at the start of the seasons

Looks like an even newer E.on Tariff just came out.

V15, will save me about £15 a year extra.

Off for a pint now (as a result of the above it will be free)
