Need what I suppose is legal advice.
I have a Victorian semi.
Next door's drains join mine at the rear of my house, and exit to the street drain under my house. Through the cellar. Previous owner of my house mentioned they'd spent a great deal having them replaced. And I have no problems at all.
Next door do, though.
I know this as Dynarod etc ask for access to the manhole in my back garden. And again today. I watched him lift the cover, and it was totally clear. So the problem confined to 'their' side.
Now some parts of shared drains are the responsibility of Thames water. But Googling doesn't make it clear to me just where their responsibility ends.
What I don't know is if next door's drains were replaced same time as mine
- and that house has changed hands a few times since.
I know it's not my problem, but next door are very nice, but don't do any DIY etc, so likely to get conned easily.
I did ask the DynaRod chap what he found when clearing it - but he was non-committal.
